Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics
For more than 40 years, the ACT-SO program has served communities nationwide, grooming many history-makers for success.
During the GRAMMYs, a special advertisement aired announcing NAACP’s partnership with Google.org to extend the Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) to even more students.

The ACT-SO program gives Black high school students—more than 300,000 to date—a platform to bring their ideas to life, compete, and begin their journey to becoming leaders in STEM, humanities, business, and the arts.
And we’re pleased to announce that over the next three years, Google.org will provide a $3M grant and enable volunteering support to help scale the NAACP ACT-SO Program.
As we approach the ultimate celebration of Black excellence, the 51st NAACP Image Awards taking place during Black History Month, it’s important that we continue to spotlight the achievements of our people, and pave the way for the next generation of legends.
We commend Google’s support for the ACT-SO program, and their commitment to celebration of Black achievements.
